Delivery & Returns

Shipping & Returns Policy

Gladstones Jewellers
Last updated: 26 August 2026

At Gladstones Jewellers, we take great care when preparing and packaging every order. We want your jewellery to arrive safely, securely and in perfect condition.

This Shipping & Returns Policy explains how we process orders, arrange delivery and handle returns.

1. UK Delivery

We currently offer delivery within the United Kingdom.

All jewellery orders are carefully packaged and sent using a secure, tracked delivery service.

Standard UK Delivery

  • Delivery time: 1–5 working days
  • Delivery cost: £4.99
  • Free delivery: Free on orders over £75.00

Orders are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days of your order being placed.

Please note that delivery times are estimates and may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our control, including courier delays, adverse weather and busy periods.

Next Day UK Delivery

  • Delivery time: 1 working days
  • Cost: £14.99 / Free on orders over £200

Orders placed before 1pm on a working day will normally be dispatched the same day.

Next Day delivery is not available for certain items where additional preparation, sizing, engraving or other services are required.

2. Secure Jewellery Delivery

As a jewellery retailer, we understand the importance of sending your order securely.

Orders may be sent using a tracked and/or signed-for delivery service, depending on the value and nature of the item.

For higher-value orders, a signature may be required upon delivery.

Please make sure that your delivery address is correct and that someone is available to receive the parcel where a signature is required.

3. Delivery Address

Please check your delivery details carefully before completing your purchase.

If you provide an incorrect or incomplete address, please contact us as soon as possible at:

enquiries@gladstonesjewellers.co.uk

We will do our best to assist you, but we cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once your order has been dispatched.

4. Order Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you a confirmation email containing tracking information where available.

Please allow some time for the tracking information to become active after dispatch.

If your tracking information indicates that your parcel has been delivered but you cannot locate it, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate with the delivery provider.

Returns & Refunds

5. Our Returns Policy

We want you to be completely happy with your purchase from Gladstones Jewellers.

If you purchase an item from our website and change your mind, you generally have the right to cancel your online order within 21 days of receiving the goods, without having to give a reason. You then normally have a further 14 days to return the item to us.

This statutory cancellation right applies to most online purchases, subject to certain legal exceptions.

6. Conditions for Returns

For a change-of-mind return, we ask that jewellery is returned:

  • In its original condition;
  • Unworn and undamaged;
  • With all original packaging;
  • With any certificates, guarantees, authenticity documents or other items supplied with the jewellery; and
  • With proof of purchase.

Please take particular care when trying on jewellery. Items should only be handled as you would reasonably handle them in a shop.

If an item has been worn, damaged or altered beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, we may be entitled to make a deduction from the refund where permitted by law.

7. Items That Cannot Normally Be Returned

Certain items may be excluded from the statutory right to cancel where an applicable legal exception applies.

This may include jewellery that has been:

  • Earrings
  • Personalised or made specifically to your requirements;
  • Engraved at your request;
  • Altered or specially modified at your request;
  • Made to a specific bespoke specification; or
  • Otherwise made or supplied in circumstances where the statutory cancellation exception applies.

Where an item is personalised, bespoke or otherwise non-returnable, we will make this clear before you place your order.

This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet the requirements of UK consumer law.

8. How to Return an Item

To start a return, please contact us at:

enquiries@gladstonesjewellers.co.uk

Please include:

  • Your full name;
  • Order number;
  • The item you wish to return; and
  • The reason for the return, if you wish to provide one.

We will provide you with the appropriate return instructions.

Return address:

Gladstones Jewellers
321 Holderness Road, Hull
HU8 8SH
United Kingdom

We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service when returning valuable jewellery.

Please retain your proof of postage and tracking information until your return has been received and your refund has been processed.

9. Return Postage

For a change-of-mind return, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the item, unless otherwise stated.

Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise does not conform to your statutory rights, please contact us before returning it so that we can advise you on the appropriate arrangements.

Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.

10. Refunds

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it meets the applicable return conditions.

Where you have validly cancelled an online purchase under your statutory cancellation rights, we will issue the applicable refund within the legally required timeframe.

For qualifying cancellations, this will normally include the cost of standard delivery paid at the time of purchase. If you selected a more expensive delivery service, we are generally only required to refund the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option.

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless otherwise agreed.

11. Faulty or Damaged Jewellery

If your jewellery arrives damaged or you believe that an item is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please provide your:

  • Order number;
  • Name;
  • Description of the issue; and
  • Photographs of the item and packaging where appropriate.

Please do not attempt to repair, resize or otherwise alter a potentially faulty item before contacting us.

Under UK consumer law, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.

12. Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is different from the one you ordered, please contact us immediately.

We will arrange the appropriate resolution and, where the error is ours, we will cover the reasonable costs associated with returning the incorrect item.

13. Exchanges

We do not currently offer direct exchanges through our website. If you wish to change an item, please return the original item in accordance with this policy and place a new order for the replacement item.

14. In-Store Purchases

Purchases made directly from our physical shop may be subject to different return arrangements from online purchases.

If you purchase an item in person and subsequently change your mind, there is generally no automatic statutory right to a refund simply because you no longer want the item. Any goodwill returns or exchanges offered for in-store purchases will be subject to our in-store policy.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not meet the requirements of consumer law.

15. Local Collection

If you are local to Gladstones Jewellers, we may offer a click-and-collect service.

Collection address:

Gladstones Jewellers
321 Holderness Road, Hull
HU8 8SH

You will receive confirmation when your order is ready for collection.

Please bring your order confirmation and suitable identification when collecting your purchase.

16. Lost or Delayed Parcels

If your order has not arrived within the expected delivery timeframe, please contact us and we will investigate the matter with the delivery provider.

For valuable jewellery, please do not assume a parcel has been lost solely because tracking has not updated immediately. We will work with the relevant delivery service to establish the position of your order.

17. Our Commitment to You

At Gladstones Jewellers, we pride ourselves on providing a personal and professional service.

If you have any questions about delivery, returns, refunds or an item you have purchased from us, please contact our team and we will be happy to help.
